Colfax County Gun Violence

  • On February 23, 2016, in Colfax County, New Mexico, Raton police officers were called to a home where shots had been fired. Officers were informed there were two male victims. The men were identified as Michael Garcia, age 19, who was admitted to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The second victim, Miguel Rodriguez, age 20, sustained more serious injuries and was flown to the University of New Mexico Medical Center. Police are searching for the suspects. Source: KRTN Radio
  • In January of 2012 in Raton, New Mexico, Troy Ledoux was shot 6 to 8 times in a dispute over guns and cash. Source: Raton Comet
  • On September 1, 2013, in Raton, New Mexico, 71-year-old Eugene Gonzales shot and killed 61-year-old Augustine Grano of Springer, Colorado. Source: Raton Comet
  • On November 22, 2014, in Colfax County, New Mexico, one man was found shot to death. 21-year-old Anthony Garcia was charged with one count of murder and 5 counts of aggravated assault. Source: KOAT TV
