• On August 14, 2022 in Clovis, New Mexico, Jessie Villanes (16) was shot and killed at an apartment on North Sycamore. Jimmy Tyrone Whitlock has since been arrested for the shooting.   • On August 3, 2022 in Clovis, New Mexico, Schammiel Kirven (17) was accidentally shot and killed by Zyon Williams (19). The victim had been standing outside of her apartment building when Williams passed by while messing with his grandmother’s 9mm pistol.   • On July 9, 2022 in Clovis, New Mexico, two women were injured and one man died as the result of a shooting that also involved a car accident. Police were responding to a call concerning shots fired on Connelly St. around 1 a.m., when they received a second call that a vehicle had crashed into a residence–also on Connelly St. Rebecca Diaz-Ramirez (55) and Janeth Ramirez (27) were accidental victims of the incident. Both were inside their homes when Victor Davila (22) crashed his Dodge pickup into it. Davila later died of a gunshot wound sustained during the event. https://bit.ly/3h8uTUg
  • On May 15, 2022 in Clovis, New Mexico, Manuel Rodriguez (43) was found shot multiple times in the torso at the 900 block of Edwards St., around 4:30 pm. He was airlifted to Lubbock hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries. https://bit.ly/3vEWEYS
  • On March 7, 2022 in Clovis, New Mexico, Marcus Phillips was arrested on the campus of an unnamed public school, after having fired a gunshot at the head of a school custodian. The victim was uninjured, and the gun used by Philips was revealed to have been stolen. https://bit.ly/3M9R3jJ

  • On August 24, 2021 in Clovis, New Mexico, a four-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to the head in his family home. It is unclear how he was shot.   • On May 14, 2021 in Clovis, New Mexico, Clovis Police Department responded to a call from a person who said they had been shot. Upon arriving to the area of Grand and Martin Luther King Blvd, they saw a crashed Mercedes. Inside was a person with life threatening injuries.   • In April 2021, police were responding to two separate gun incidents. The first one took place on the 300 block of North Price St. where a 58-year-old mad was shot and was in critical condition.   • On February 18, 2021 in Clovis, New Mexico, police arrested Miguel Lopez (45) after allegedly pistol whipping a man and injuring a woman. Lopez was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, illegal possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence, and being in possession of a stolen firearm. https://bit.ly/3qVcaec
  • On September 16, 2020 in Portales, New Mexico, Brady Vallejos was shot in the head in an attempted robbery. A 14-year-old Portales boy was identified as the shooter. Also arrested were, Diego Morales, 18 and Jean Brodie, 19. https://bit.ly/2HgDqCA
  • On September 2, 2019 in Clovis, New Mexico, Angelo Lopez, age 18, was charged with 6 counts of aggravated burglary, battery and assault.   • On March 8, 2019, in Clovis, New Mexico, a masked man walked into a hair salon owned by Sandra Reyna, pulled a gun and left with cash. No injuries were reported. Source: The Eastern New Mexico News
  • On October 8, 2018, in Clovis, New Mexico, Aaron Joseph Chavez, 22 years old, was killed. New Mexico state police say they are investigating an officer involved shooting. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Clovis police officer attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in which Chavez fled from the vehicle and a foot pursuit ensued, during which the officer opened fire.   • On September 21, 2018, in Clovis, New Mexico, Clovis police received an emergency call in reference to shots fired. The person who had discharged the firearm had left the scene.   • On February 2, 2018, in Clovis, New Mexico, Wesley Flores, 28 years old, remained in stable condition after shooting himself in the jaw while being booked for jail.   • On September 5, 2017, in Clovis, New Mexico, officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to an apartment complex for a call of shots fired. David McDonald, 30 years old, was seen lying on the ground near the office area of the apartments. He had a bullet wound and later died at Plains Regional Medical Center.
