  • On March 8, 2019, in Clovis, New Mexico, a masked man walked into a hair salon owned by Sandra Reyna, pulled a gun and left with cash. No injuries were reported. Source: The Eastern New Mexico News
  • On October 8, 2018, in Clovis, New Mexico, Aaron Joseph Chavez, 22 years old, was killed. New Mexico state police say they are investigating an officer involved shooting. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Clovis police officer attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in which Chavez fled from the vehicle and a foot pursuit ensued, during which the officer opened fire.   • On September 21, 2018, in Clovis, New Mexico, Clovis police received an emergency call in reference to shots fired. The person who had discharged the firearm had left the scene. Officers found a 40-year-old male with gunshot wounds. The suspect shooter is a 20-year-old male. Source: Clovis Police Department
  • On June 20, 2018, in Clovis, New Mexico, an officer from the Clovis SWAT team exchanged fire with one of the escaped inmates from the Curry Detention Center who were in an apartment. When officers arrived, they tried to negotiate with the suspects. Source: KOB4
  • On April 6, 2018, in Clovis, New Mexico, Clovis police have arrested a 17-year-old male Clovis High School student after authorities learned of a social media posting of a photo where a person is holding a rifle and apparently threatening a shooting at the school. Source: Associated Press
  • On February 2, 2018, in Clovis, New Mexico, Wesley Flores, 28 years old, remained in stable condition after shooting himself in the jaw while being booked for jail. The officer began a pat down when Flores pulled a gun out of his clothing and took a detention center officer hostage at gunpoint. Source: News Channel 10
  • On September 5, 2017, in Clovis, New Mexico, officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to an apartment complex for a call of shots fired. David McDonald, 30 years old, was seen lying on the ground near the office area of the apartments. He had a bullet wound and later died at Plains Regional Medical Center.   • On August 8, 2013, in Clovis, New Mexico, a 40-year-old man was sentenced to 16 years in prison after repeatedly using a stun gun on his two foster children. The children were found with 24 burn marks on their stomach and arms. Source: News Channel 10.com
