- On April 29, 2022 in Deming, New Mexico, Ashton Remondini (14) was found dead in the desert north of Deming just a few hundred feet from the highway. The teen had been reported missing two days prior. A missing persons investigation was launched, which led police to Micheal D. Moody (16) and Rafa A. Camacho (18). The three teens had gone shooting the night of Remondini’s disappearance in the outskirts of the city. Camacho and Moody confessed to shooting and stabbing Remondini, without expressing a clear motive. https://bit.ly/3SbE7x0
- On April 9 2021, in the Village of Columbus, New Mexico sheriffs were investigating a shooting that took place in broad daylight in front of the Chamber of Commerce. Police found a man unresponsive with several gun shot wounds. He later succumbed to his injuries at the University Medical Center in El Paso. https://bit.ly/3oWHeL9
- On April 2, 2021 in Deming, New Mexico, Jose Luis Lujan was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after pointing a gun to his girlfriend’s head and abdomen. She is five months pregnant. He then left with their young children and threatened to harm them. An Amber alert was issued and the girls were found safe. https://bit.ly/34D9IA0
- On February 3, 2021 in Deming, New Mexico, five officers fired shots at Gilbert Valencia (29) after he charged them with a rifle. https://bit.ly/3dVtxZg
- On December 3, 2020, in Deming, New Mexico, Deming Police arrested Patricio Martinez (18) for the shooting death of Roland Venezuela (36). Two others were wounded in the shooting which included and 18-year-old boy and a 50-year-old man. https://bit.ly/3uux06P
- On November 24, 2020, in Deming, New Mexico, police shot and killed Lorenzo Aguilar (37) after being led on a highspeed chase and allegedly shooting at officers before officers returned fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene. https://bit.ly/2LRL8VU
- On September 23, 2020, police were investigating a shooting on West First Street that left Roland Valenzuela, 36, dead after being shot multiple times. Two other adult males had also been shot. https://bit.ly/34eqwhj

- On September 16, 2020, on the 300 block of Diamond St., a 37-year-old woman was shot in the leg and an 18-year-old was grazed by a bullet. https://bit.ly/2HpqtGt
- SFNM Officers shot and killed Julio Jaramillo, 28, on July 14. Jaramillo had fired on police after hiding between a restaurant and 2 freight trucks. State Police also found a pistol and bullet strikes fired by Jaramillo at a nearby restaurant. https://bit.ly/354TAae

- On October 6, 2018, in Deming, New Mexico, Eduardo Pena, 27 years old, was shot while he and others attempted to rob people at a home where multiple people were gathered. An altercation followed, and one of the home’s occupants shot Pena, who later died at the hospital. The woman who was with Pena was also shot and remains in critical condition. Source: Sun News

- On July 6, 2015, in Deming, New Mexico, 37-year-old Richard Perez was found shot. He died later that day at the hospital. Robert Tafoya was issued an arrest warrant. Tafoya is a convicted felon. Source: KRQE News 13

- On December 20, 2005, in Deming, New Mexico, a shooting occurred inside a Walmart. A 6-year-old girl, an employee, and a customer were all wounded. Store employees caught one suspect. Another suspect was arrested by the police later that day. Source: NBC News

- On April 26, 2021 in Hobbs, New Mexico, Maurice Benton was found dead by police with
- multiple gunshot wounds at the Rex Arms apartments. Police later arrested Adrian McGaha.
- Witnesses say McGaha and Benton got into a verbal exchange. McGaha left and returned with a
