- On June 22, 2022 near Cuba, New Mexico, Roderick Tsosie (29) of Pueblo Pintado was charged for fatally shooting his 14-year-old nephew on May 29 of this year. Tsosie had been called to a family home to settle a dispute when he became enraged, shooting at a vehicle containing his family members. - On March 9, 2022 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 45 year old Carmen Kester was shot and killed at her home on Mirador Loop NE. The assailant was her nephew, Braydon Baldree (15), who stole her car before fleeing. https://bit.ly/39GvuZr
- On January 27, 2022 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, state police began investigations for separate police shootings that occurred throughout the day. The first occurred in Romeroville around 5:30 pm. Paul Mares (43) was shot by police following a vehicular chase. The second incident took place at a home on Platinum Dr. NE, where John Paul Romero (42) was armed and harming family members with a knife. When police arrived, they shot at Romero, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene. https://bit.ly/3tLQJQa
- On December 14, 2021 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 2-year-old Lincoln Harmon was found shot to death. His father, Jonathan Harmon, is an officer with the Santa Fe Police Department. Harmon attempted CPR to try and revive his son while waiting for paramedics. Investigators seized 2 AR- 15 rifles, 2 Glock handguns and rounds of ammunition. https://bit.ly/3FH2I5m
- On October 31, 2021 in Corrales, New Mexico, Spencer Komadina (46) was found shot to death in a residence on the 300 block of Camino De Corrales Del Norte. His roommate Joel Ray (60) was charged with one count of murder. Komadina was the son of former State Senator Steve Komadina. https://bit.ly/300Q69V

- On July 25, 2017, in Algodones, New Mexico, Lane Reed, age 23, fired at pursuing officers during a chase on I-25. Reed had robbed a convenience store, pointing a gun at the clerk and his granddaughter. He took the clerk’s truck, shooting at police officers who were following. - On March 11, 2015, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Nicholas Chavez was arrested for allegedly shooting at a Good Samaritan who was protecting a woman at a gas station when Chavez began aggressively flirting with the woman while she was pumping gas. Source: KRQE
- On June 20, 2014, in Sandoval County, New Mexico, 2 suspects wanted in the shooting of a Sandoval County deputy during a car chase were captured. Source: KRQE News 13
- On August 8, 2014, in Algodones, New Mexico, state police responded to a 911 call by the owner of a bed and breakfast who heard shots being fired. When the police arrived, a man was shooting a high-powered rifle and making threats. The officers entered into a dialogue and then opened fire. The shooter is in critical condition. - On July 26, 2009, in Sandoval County, New Mexico, police shot and killed 62-year-old Joseph Henry Burgess who had been robbing a remote vacation cabin. Burgess was wanted for the murder of several couples. Source: Los Angeles Times
- On August 14, 2014, a 17-year-old pointed a high-powered rifle at deputies. Deputies told him to put down the firearm. When he did not comply, deputies shot the teen. The teen was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Source: KRQE News
- On May 25, 2015, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Officer Greg Brenner was shot and killed by a gang member who had previously been in prison for killing another man in 2006. Source: Albuquerque Journal
- On November 19, 2014, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, a 27-year-old man became a shooting victim when an argument occurred in a home filled with his friends and family. 59-year-old James Elliot is being charged with attempted murder. Source: Rio Rancho Observer
