• On March 21, 2021 in Las Palomas, New Mexico, Cerbando Acosta-Carbajal (29) was charged with trying to smuggle 3 AK 47 semiautomatic rifles, 3 semi-automatic pistols and 3, 300 rounds of ammunition and 29 magazines for the pistols into Mexico.   • On October 20, 2020 state police shot and injured Armando Almarez Jr. near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. The suspect was tied to the theft of 27 weapons from the Miller Guns and Ammo store in Las Cruces. Almaraz was charged with multiple felonies including aggravated battery on a peace officer and possession of a firearm by a felon.  https://bit.ly/36nCKV1
  • On June 21, 2014, in Sierra County, New Mexico, a man was shot and killed in Las Palones Canyon. Frank Harvey and his wife Deann Chavez were charged with murder and aiding to murder. Source: Ruidoso News
  • On July 9, 1997, in Truth or Consequence, New Mexico, serial killer Roy Yancy pointed a gun at Marie Parker and placed handcuffs on her.   • On March 28, 1999, in Truth or Consequence, New Mexico, police officer Kelly Fay Clark was shot and killed inside her patrol car while transferring a prisoner to prison. Source: LubbockOnline.com
  • In August of 2005 at Elephant Butte Lake, New Mexico, state park ranger Clyde Woods shot and killed a man who refused to pay the $14 camping fee. The victim was unarmed. Source: Ruidoso News
