- On November 8, 2021 in Belen, New Mexico, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a private residence near Reinkin and Second Street. The suspect, Andrew Rivera, led police on an on a foot chase before they finally caught up to him. - On October 22, 2021 in Los Lunas, New Mexico, police were looking for two suspects who committed an armed robbery with a firearm at the Home Depot on Main Street. https://bit.ly/3cUCaBN
- On May 27, 2021 in Los Lunas, New Mexico, deputies were looking for Derek Gallegos after he pointed a gun a several people including children. Authorities chased him in a car chase that exceeded 100 miles an hour but cancelled the chase for safety reasons. https://bit.ly/3pIXU9q

- On March 6, 2021 in Los Chavez, New Mexico, a Valencia County Sheriff’s deputy shot and injured Scott Edward Green during an incident at a residence with a knife and hatchet. https://bit.ly/3wRP0Jw
- On March 6, 2021, in Los Lunas, New Mexico, 11- year-old Joseph Hobbs was shot and killed in the front yard of a home in Monterey Park. Alaxandra Tabora (40), her son Santos Mateo Garcia (21) and Erik Carillo Garcia were arrested. https://bit.ly/3fPCOTL

- On November 28, 2020 in Los Lunas, New Mexico, New Mexico State Police shot Rodney Applegate (25). He was an unarmed Black man on his way to visit his family in Arizona for Thanksgiving. Police say he attempted to grab an officer’s gun while trying to make an arrest. https://bit.ly/38OgvKo
- On November 28, 2020 in Valencia, County New Mexico, Valencia County Sheriffs were investigating a shooting that left two people dead on Navajo Lane in Meadows Lake. https://bit.ly/3qmncJr
- On October 16, 2020 federal prosecutors charged 22-year-old Joshua Gutierrez of fatally shooting a man who was staying at his girlfriend’s house on March 29th . He pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and faces 12 years in prison. https://bit.ly/2GFUH8h
- On October 17, 2020, a suspect shot and wounded a woman on I-40. The woman called police and told them that she was shot by an unknown man. The police spotted the SUV on I-40. The driver ignored orders to surrender. Laguna Tribal Police shot a round of bean bags at the driver’s windshield. The driver returned fire at the officers. State police then returned fire and shot and killed the driver. He was found with a rifle in his lap. https://bit.ly/32p3aUV
- On April 20, 2019, in Valencia County, New Mexico, Darren Bernal, age 40, Nathan Morrison, age 28, and Joseph Santiago, age 28 were shot and killed. Valencia County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested three teenagers in connection with the triple homicide. Brandon Dowdy, age 18, Anthony William, age 17, and Robert Wilson, age 19, were charged with three counts of murder. Source: KOB4
- On March 2, 2019, in Meadow Lake, New Mexico, Stephen Benevides and Brittany Torres had forced their way into a home and demanded money. The homeowner fired several shots towards them striking them both. They fled on foot and were later located. Both were transported to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. - On March 2, 2019, in Meadow Lake, New Mexico, Daniel Sandoval, age 26, was shot and killed by Jesus Angel Garcia, age 32, and Alexandro Montelongo Murillo, age 24. Police were dispatched to a home where they found Sandoval shot multiple times. He was transported to a hospital where he died. The two men allegedly engaged in a vehicle pursuit with Daniel Sandoval and Scott Sandoval, who were not hurt. Source: Valencia County News-Bulletin
- On March 1, 2019, in El Cerro Mission, New Mexico, Mateo Mendoza-Silva, age 43, discharged a shotgun at Jesus Alvaro Aboyte, age 22. Aboyte was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Mendoza-Silva was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Source: News-Bulletin.com
- On February 28, 2019, in Belen, New Mexico, police received several calls for shots fired. Officers discovered two men, age 34 and 40, with gunshot injuries. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment. Source: News-Bulletin.com
- On February 7, 2019, in Bosque Farms, New Mexico, Samuel Orona, age 28, was charged with driving a stolen vehicle and fleeing from a law enforcement officer. The suspect fired upon the officers and one officer fired back. New Mexico State Police are handling the investigation. Source: News-Bulletin.com
- On February 4, 2019, in Valencia County, New Mexico, Rebecca Baldonado, 37 years old, was shot and killed by Gilbert Duran, 24 years old. Duran, who was Baldonado’s boyfriend, drove into her yard in his pickup truck, pulled her out of the truck, laid her on the ground and told the neighbor to call 911. - On August 24, 2018, in Los Lunas, New Mexico, the New Mexico state police investigated a shooting in which a Valencia County Sheriff’s deputy shot two burglaries suspects – one fatally. When deputies arrived, they found Vanessa Ordonez, age 16, dead and Casey Peralta, age 33, with a shotgun wound to the head. The investigation continues. Source: Valencia County News Bulletin
- On March 27, 2018, in Los Lunas, New Mexico, a Los Lunas police officer opened fire at a suspect believed to be a prowler in a residential area. At some point during the encounter, at least one Los Lunas police officer fired, hitting the suspect. The extent of the suspect’s injuries is not known. The incident is under investigation. - On October 16, 2017, in Belen, New Mexico, Mykl Chavez, age 28, a suspect in a stolen vehicle sustained an injury following an officer-involved shooting. New Mexico state police said an officer spotted a stolen vehicle. At some point during the encounter, Chavez tried to run the officer over and the officer fired at him. Chavez was taken to a University of New Mexico Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Source: KOB4
- On September 25, 2017, Miranda Molinar, age 22, was shot and killed at a home. Sheriff’s deputies say what started as a gathering of teens and young adults ended with a 17-year-old being charged with murder. There was some sort of a dispute although the police aren’t saying what it was about. Detectives are investigating whether alcohol was involved and where the gun came from. Source: KRQE News
- On February 4, 2017, in Rio Communities, New Mexico, Brenda Martinez, 35 years old, was found shot and killed. Martinez’s boyfriend, 35-year-old Felix Contreras, is in custody although he has not been charged with her murder. The police believe they got into an argument and the woman went for her friend’s house. They believe he followed her and shot her. Source: KRQE News
- On July 7, 2016, in Los Lunas, New Mexico, police searched for three suspects involved in an armed robbery. It happened at 3:45 a.m. at the Giant gas station. Surveillance video showed a woman walking in the store and then walking out. Shortly afterward, another man and woman got out of the same car and went into the store with guns. Source: KRQE News
- On September 14, 2014, in Valencia County, New Mexico, a man was shot several times in his driveway. The shooter then stole his car. Neighbors rushed to the driveway and applied pressure on his wounds until an ambulance arrived. Source: KOAT TV
- On September 15, 2015, in Los Chavez, New Mexico, 2 men were shot and killed at a gas station on Route 314. Both men were members of rival gangs. Source: KOAT TV
- On September 10, 2013, in Jarales, New Mexico, Jordon Hurd was taken into custody after shooting and killing 54-year-old Wesley Hobbs and his 24-year-old daughter Amanda Hobbs. Hurd also shot 49-year-old Patricia Hobbs, who survived the shooting. Source: Albuquerque Journal
- In August of 2004 in Belen, New Mexico, a 10-year-old shot and killed his father in front of his sister.
- On August 24, 2005, in Belen, New Mexico, 22-year-old Anthony Chavez was charged in the shooting death of a Belen man. He faces one count of murder and one count of an armed robbery. Source: BusinessHighbeam.com

- On July 13, 2014, in Los Lunas, New Mexico, police responded to a fatal shooting that began with an altercation at the Allsup’s. The suspect shot and killed 21-year-old Charles Davlin. Source: KOAT TV
- On May 7, 2014, in Los Lunas, New Mexico, a man fired 75 to 80 shots at police officers during a standoff. The officers were responding to a domestic violence incident. The shooter’s wife and 2 younger children escaped but the shooter kept his 14-year-old inside until the officers negotiated his son’s release. Source: KOAT TV
